Writing Update 7/23
Wow. Where to start?
I've been MIA in the jungles of New Zealand trying to escape masks and too much (and yet too little) inspiration while finding out the secrets to life and increasing my flexibility through intensive goat yoga.
...
That might've been too much, yikes, my apologies. Right, so what's actually been going on?
I took a break from my infant blog and my twitter to finish the final manuscript of my novella so that I could send it off to an editor, and I am happy to say that I have! I am now onto the next phase of the journey to becoming a published author and I'm stoked to take one step closer.
After I finished my final manuscript, I decided to take some time to refresh and refill my creative well, and so I have been reading The Stranger Beside Me by Ann Rule and The Secret History by Donna Tartt, watching a lot of Master Chef, bought a cookbook (to become the next Master Chef), cooked some seared scallops and learned how to make a homemade raspberry vinaigrette, played video games, and played a lot of soccer.
And now, I'm still watching Master Chef and writing this post. I'm jumping back on the grind with my goal to provide more content on my blog and be more interactive on my twitter. If you've been checking out my stuff so far, thank you for your support! Please continue to follow up with my content. I'm going to work on creating an email list so you guys will get an update each time I post something.
To celebrate and build some hype for my novella, I want to do a dating profile/character sheet for a a couple of my characters. It's going to be something fun and interactive and I'm supper excited to provide that soon.
And for the future, big things are in the making. I'm still working on my twitter and my blog and providing good content, but I'm also an aspiring author. I have big goals for at least two novels and I'm working on completing my story beat outline for the first. My plans are to start writing the monster beginning in August and to provide updates on that on my twitter and on my blog.
I'm incredibly excited to lace the shoes back up and hit the ground running, so please, join me for the ride!
